About Me
I have always had an interest in art. Even as a child I would sit and try to recreate popular comic strips and cartoons. After school I worked for a paper and print company but felt my creativity was being wasted. I decided to return to education, where I studied Art, Media and Photography. It was whilst I was at college that I began to learn different art techniques. I then went on to study Graphic Fine Art at University Of East London and Graphic Design at Barking College. While I was at college I had artwork selected by Insight Investment, which was displayed at their head office in the financial district in London.
After university I became a portrait photographer for a short period of time. However, I still missed working with the variety of different media that I had learnt at college and university. In 2006 I had more photographic work used by the platinum selling Australian/ New Zealand band Evermore as part of their Australian tour. The images were used on part of their background projection. In 2010, I co founded a community art gallery, where local artists (amateur and professional) could display their work. It was around this time that I also started to run art classes for adults.
In 2013 I was approached by the BBC. They required some artwork to be produced in an Andy Warhol style, for their CBBC programme 'Marrying Mum And Dad'. The programme aired in August of 2013.
I have also produced artwork for sporting legends Johnny Wilkinson (England Rugby) and Bobby Charlton (Man U and England Football). I was credited as Art Director in the film 'Mallard - Steam's Ultimate Speed Machine' that was commissioned by the National Rail Museum York and Science Museum
I continue to split my time between my art classes and my freelance work.
